Nine cross-sectional studies were identified which reported means and standard deviations for individual tests. Tests of executive function, working memory and psychomotor and attentional functions were found to be impaired in T2DM. Impairments of executive function and choice reaction time may have consequences for everyday functioning, in particular the risk of falls in older adults. More research on cognitive deficits in dual-task situations and how they impact everyday functioning is needed; the Trail Making Task, Symbol Digit Modalities Test, Verbal Fluency Task and tests of reaction time and processing speed could be included as core components of test batteries in future intervention studies. They could also be assessed in newly diagnosed T2DM and used to monitor progressive deterioration of cognitive function and the efficacy of therapeutic interventions on cognitive function.]]> Wed 10 Jul 2019 15:21:43 AEST ]]> Paternal play and the brain: a study of rough and tumble play and children’s executive functioning development https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54311 Wed 06 Mar 2024 14:07:52 AEDT ]]> A systematic review of cognitive assessment in physical activity research involving children and adolescents https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38654 Wed 06 Dec 2023 09:52:54 AEDT ]]> Frontoparietal theta oscillations during proactive control are associated with goal-updating and reduced behavioral variability https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30406 general role of theta oscillations during proactive cognitive control, with increased power and phase coherence during the preparatory cue interval. Further, theta oscillations across frontoparietal electrodes were also modulated by proactive control demands, with increased theta phase synchrony and power for cues signaling the need for goal updating. Finally, we present novel evidence of negative associations between behavioral variability and both power and phase synchrony across many of these frontoparietal electrodes that were associated with the need for goal updating. In particular, greater consistency in frontoparietal theta oscillations, indicated by increased theta phase and power during mixed-task blocks, resulted in more consistent task-switching performance. Together, these findings provide new insight into the temporal dynamics and functional relevance of theta oscillations during proactive cognitive control.]]> Wed 04 Sep 2019 09:39:54 AEST ]]> An intergrated analysis of the development of executive function: working memory, inhibition and shifting https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22347 Tue 11 Dec 2018 15:18:59 AEDT ]]> Age-related decline in task switching is linked to both global and tract-specific changes in white matter microstructure https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24681 Tue 01 May 2018 15:44:50 AEST ]]> Exploring executive function: multiple intelligences' personalised mapping for success https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21567 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:00:41 AEDT ]]> Developing skills for a lifetime of learning: strategies to develop flexible thinking. https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:16107 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:55:23 AEDT ]]> Memory complaint questionnaire performed poorly as screening tool: validation against psychometric tests and affective measures https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21648 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:52:23 AEDT ]]> Functional magnetic resonance brain imaging of executive cognitive performance in young first-episode schizophrenia patients and age-matched long-term cannabis users https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:26883 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:41:40 AEDT ]]> Psychophysiological correlates of developmental changes in healthy and autistic boys https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:27424 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:34:59 AEDT ]]> Social cognition dysfunction in adolescents with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (velo-cardio-facial syndrome): relationship with executive functioning and social competence/functioning https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:27451 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:32:46 AEDT ]]> A new delirium phenotype with rapid high amplitude onset and nearly as rapid reversal: Central Coast Australia Delirium Intervention Study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24436 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:17:20 AEDT ]]> Electrophysiological signatures of the race model in human primary motor cortex https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24308 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:14:39 AEDT ]]> Microstructural white matter changes mediate age-related cognitive decline on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24080 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:09:38 AEDT ]]> An information theory account of late frontoparietal ERP positivities in cognitive control https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30408 Mon 23 Sep 2019 12:51:41 AEST ]]> Altered Functional Connectivity and Cognition Persists 4 Years After a Transient Ischemic Attack or Minor Stroke https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40206 Mon 08 Aug 2022 13:40:29 AEST ]]> Effects of Classroom-Based Resistance Training With and Without Cognitive Training on Adolescents’ Cognitive Function, On-task Behavior, and Muscular Fitness https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45423 Fri 28 Oct 2022 11:41:17 AEDT ]]> School-based intervention to address self-regulation and executive functioning in children attending primary schools in remote Australian Aboriginal communities https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40508 Fri 22 Jul 2022 13:33:40 AEST ]]>
